PROGRAMME OFFICER – GUWAHATI

ActionAid India wishes to recruit a Programme Officer for the North East Region, to be based in Guwahati.

Responsibilities

• Building effective partnerships and collaborations with NGOs and Civil Society Organizations and groups of the north eastern states around critical regional and national issues applying the people centric human rights based approach.

• Project Management, budgeting, conducting evaluations, capacity building, documentation, coordination with the sponsorship unit, networking and advocacy and program review and evaluation.

Must possess

• Understanding of core development issues and trends and  familiarity with  the Human Rights Based Approach

• Comprehensive understanding of the North East region based on field experience

• Skills for facilitating participatory development processes

• Strong coordination, facilitation and analytical skills

• Understanding of gender issues and the Rights of People with Disabilities and Persons Living with HIV-AIDS.

Person Profile

• Post-Graduate Degree in Social Sciences/ Social Work/ Rural Management or its equivalent

• Minimum of 2- 3 years experience in the development field in  program design, program implementation, monitoring and evaluation 

• Experience of partnership management desirable

• Activist background desirable

• Should be able to work as a member of a culturally diverse team

• Must possess fluency in English and Hindi; knowledge of a local language will be an added asset.

• Should have good skills in MS office
