The project has been working on a Rights Based Approach with the excluded communities mainly on issues related to dalit rights, land alienation, right to food, employment guarantee act, right to information and women's empowerment. The first association with Action Aid was in 1980 for a short term programme. The support helped Prayas to start a school for children in a remote village. The school was instrumental in ensuring education to more than 150 children (about 30% girls). The long-term partnership with ActionAid started in 1998. [Download full report]
