Assam and Nagaland Flood Emergency Appeal

Heavy monsoon rains have triggered severe floods across Upper Assam and neighbouring Mon district in Nagaland, leaving thousands of families struggling to survive. Entire villages have been submerged, homes have been damaged, roads have disappeared under floodwaters, and access to food, safe drinking water, and healthcare has become extremely difficult.

ActionAid Association is responding with emergency relief to support the most affected communities. Your support can help families rebuild hope during this difficult time.

A Flood Crisis Spreading Across Two States

Continuous heavy rainfall over the Patkai Hills has caused rivers and streams to overflow into the plains of Assam. The floodwaters have rapidly spread across Sivasagar, Charaideo, and into Mon district of Nagaland, creating a regional humanitarian emergency.

Unlike the usual seasonal floods, this disaster has been intensified by sudden hill runoff, overflowing streams, and flash floods that have affected areas with little time to prepare.

Thousands of families are facing an uncertain future.
  • Over 57,000 people affected across 298 villages
  • Eight districts in Assam impacted
  • 22 revenue circles remain under floodwaters
  • Residential areas in Amguri, Nazira, Demow , and Sonari are submerged
  • Roads and railway services remain disrupted
  • Drinking watersystems have been damaged
  • Flash floods and landslides have also affected Mon district, Nagaland
  • Many families are living on embankments, roadsides, and other temporary locations after leaving their homes
  • Children, older persons, women, and people with disabilities are among those most at risk.
