    • Basic Information about the initiative
    • The project Bhubaneswar Initiative is active in 50 slums in Bhubaneshwar, Khordha district, Odisha. The project has been engaged with collectives of socially and economically marginalized urban poor in slums of Bhubaneshwar city. The long term is working to promote education and child protection by ensuring enrolment and retention of children in the government schools, building capacities of parents and community on child rights. The project is also focusing on empowering informal workers, adolescents, women and persons with disabilities by facilitating access to social security schemes and welfare programs, livelihood support and climate change actions, while strengthening their participation through awareness programs, capacity building, trainings and engagement with local administration.
