We are pleased to share with you that on July 31, Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE), Hyderabad; ActionAid Association and its urban knowledge activist hub – Citizens’ Rights Collective (CiRiC), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work together towards setting up a Centre of Excellence in Urban Management in the IPE. Under this MoU, a post-graduate diploma course on urban management will be designed and run, besides an advanced leadership course on urban development for municipal and government officials.

This agreement is a new milestone in the more than four years of intensive collaboration between the three organizations. ActionAid Association, along with CiRiC, had initiated the Urban Action School (UAS) with a view to building capacities of urban practitioners, including those of students, researchers, activists and policy practitioners on urban management. The collaboration with IPE helped build the context for a premium education and research program on urban management, bringing together the expertise across academia, industry, government, policy practitioners and activists, to explore critical issues in the urban sector and to develop a space for education, research and projects on urban management.
