ActionAid Association’s Andhra Pradesh & Telangana Regional Office, together with Pilupu, has been supporting farmers in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district of Telangana for a few years now. As part of this initiative, the formation of the Yadadri Farmer Producer Company was facilitated and its growth as a robust organization was supported.

The producer company started a unit in Turkapally mandal to support farmers’ needs. The unit secured a franchise from Farmringg, an online company providing farm services for small farmers, which will help them run a single-window facility for information related to farming and providing seeds, fertilizers, implements and other agricultural inputs to marginal farmers at low costs. The unit was inaugurated on November 6 in the presence of local government representatives, community leaders and members.

ActionAid Association and Pilupu have been supporting Yadadri Farmer Producer Company – comprising nearly 300 farmers, majority of them women – through trainings, skill-building programmes and exposure visits. Besides, they have been encouraging and supporting farmers to practise organic farming and System of Rice Intensification (SRI) cultivation.
