Rejuvenate and conserve water bodies
Our initiatives to rejuvenate and conserve water bodies across Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Assam, Manipur, Rajasthan have been yielding results. We have been able to recharge the water tables in many parts of these states leading our efforts towards a better ecological justice. Together with the communities and Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) members and through the support of our donors like you, we have been able to show visible results of our efforts to increase green cover in the immediate surrounding of these areas helping us to make a difference towards ecology, commons and environmental conservation.

For instance, in Uttar Pradesh, we have successfully rejuvenated six ponds – spread over a total of 2.44 hectares of land – which are able to store over 12.8 milion gallons of water. The improved water levels in these ponds have led to enhanced water availability for the local communities for drinking and irrigation, besides contributing to ecological balance. Moreover, 1,700 saplings have been planted along the pond peripheries and in the adjoining areas. That’s not all! These revived water bodies are also now witnessing an increased number of birds in their vicinity.
